The International Conference “100 Years of Theatre in French Manitoba: Théâtre Cercle Molière — Between Community, Tradition, and Innovation” Celebrates a century of theatrical history and cultural engagement. The event will welcome researchers and doctoral students from Europe, the United States, Canada, and French Guiana, who will present the results of their work on theatre in minority language contexts.

The Opening keynote Will be delivered by Louise Ladouceur, Professor Emerita at the University of Alberta, and the Closing keynote by Nicole Nolette, Canada Research Chair in Minority Studies at the University of Waterloo.

Two Panel discussions Will provide opportunities for in-depth exchanges:

  • “Writing Theatre, Writing About Theatre in Minority Language Contexts in French Canada”
  • “The Internationalization of TCM and the New Permutations of TCM's International Reference”

The conference is open to researchers, students, theatre practitioners, and the general public, offering a unique opportunity to explore the richness and vitality of Théâtre Cercle Molière while reflecting on contemporary issues facing the Francophone minority theatre scene.
