On marronne ? (Si ça te dit, viens)

SYNOPSIS

Adelaide is a woman who has left her homeland overnight to settle in a new land. She renews her circle of friends, who become almost a new family. But questions persist within her: What does she keep from her past? What will she renounce? What will she adopt again? Even those closest to her are unaware of the importance and difficulty of this quest for a new identity. Will she lose or discover herself in the process?

In this text by Gustave Akakpo, beyond the individual identity presented through the character of Adelaïde, we discover a whole series of questions about collective identity, history, memory and the mythologies of a people. On marronne? (If you feel like it, come along) is an invitation to step aside, to see myths no longer as good old-fashioned stories, but as a reality of identity that is essential if we are to find our place in the world.
