Noir et Fier (Black and proud)

A series of events for the general public | An initiative by Wilgis Agossa, co-produced by Théâtre Cercle Molière.

DESCRIPTION‍

For a third consecutive year, we invite you to join us for the entire month of February 2024 for the Noir et fier event.

This initiative is held during Black History Month, which is an occasion to educate, raise awareness and come together to celebrate Black communities throughout Canada.

In addition to a photo exhibit which will take place at Théâtre Cercle Molière, multiple activities will enrich the month and bring together our communities in February 2024.

Have a wonderful Black History Month 2024!

Wilgis Agossa

Wilgis Agossa arrived in Canada from Benin over ten years ago, and has integrated by embracing Manitoba culture and accepting the differences of his fellow man. That's what Noir et Fier (Black and Proud) is all about, an open door to inclusion through a sharing of stories, cultures and voices. Each of these faces, like thousands of others, is looking for a little place on that log around the fire, to get to know each other and to share their story. So that it becomes part of our common history.

"I hope it's time for all of us, whatever our origins, to break down barriers. It's time to make room for our neighbors and to recognize in others a brother, a sister, a friend, a neighbor. Black and Proud is an exhibition that represents who I am from a cultural and historical point of view, but also gives visibility to others whose stories may resonate with each and every one of us." - Wilgis Agossa
