Theatre Workshops for Grades 7 to 12 (FTJ)
Dramatic Writing, Acting, Directing (Available in French only)
Theatre Workshops for grades 7 to 12 leading up to the Virtual Festival théâtre jeunesse 2021.
The intention of our workshops is to equip you and your students with the basic tools to start and advance in your project, be it a dramatic short film or a recorded play. Includes a preparatory visit with the artist to tailor the workshop to your needs.
Duration: 1 hour per workshop
Maximum participants: 25-30 students
For who? For teachers and their students, grades 7 to 12. Offered to students in school or at home. (French only)
On which platform? Zoom or Teams (*the teacher must be present during all workshops)

DRAMATIC WRITING WORKSHOP
January – February 2021
With Sophie Bouchard Tremblay, Rhéal Cenerini, Marie-Ève Fontaine, Simon Miron & Amber O’Reilly.
Artistic and Pedagogical Objectives – French:
- Create texts to communicate orally
- Develop imagination
- Develop comprehension of structure of dramatic text
Artistic and Pedagogical Objectives – Drama:
- Understanding how to create and use a scenario
- Interact with theatre professionals
ACTING WORKSHOP
February – March 2021
With Sophie Bouchard Tremblay, Marie-Ève Fontaine & Simon Miron.
Artistic and Pedagogical Objectives – French:
- Express self confidently
- Play with language
- Develop non verbal communication (gesture, facial expression, bodily expression, cultural norms according to age and social situation, rules and conversation)
- Develop elements of prosody (intonation, articulation, pronunciation, speed, frequency, pauses, tone, volume, accent)
Artistic and Pedagogical Objectives – Drama:
- Develop ability to use body, voice and thought as tools and techniques in a variety of contexts
- Interact with theatre professionals
DIRECTING WORKSHOP

Develop an understanding of literary elements (distinguish, deepen, highlight, implement, reinvest, integrate):
- Characters: roles and importance, actions and reaction, character dynamics, elements of characterization, psychology of characters
- Time & location, atmosphere & mood, symbolism & themes
Artistic and Pedagogical Objectives – Drama:
- Interact with theatre professionals
- Discover and practice a variety of roles and responsibilities within a production
- Reflect and establish goals
