Description
Exhibit: Noir et fier
During the month of February, Black History Month, I invite you to make your way to visit the expo Noir et fier at Théâtre Cercle Molière’s gallery or online at exponoiretfier.com. This project idea of exposing a pan of Black History, the history of people we cross every day, has been a dream of mine for a long time. Thanks to the Théâtre Cercle Molière team’s vision of inclusion and openness to new ideas, my dream has now become reality.
I hope that by visiting this expo you will take the time to recognize the people around you and that it will incite you to get closer to the people you see every day without every really paying attention. Next time you see them, don’t hesitate. Say hello. Let’s each take a step towards the other.
Thank you!
– Wilgis Agossa
(Artist and Photographer)
Wilgis Agossa, who chose Canada as his adoptive country, has had a passion for video and photography for many years. Throughout the years and through his camera lens, he has discovered the riches of Canada and more particularly, Manitoba. Today, it is through this same lens that he wishes to show the community those who, like him, share an identity, that of being Black. His exhibit Noir et fier is for him a way to bring his community closer together by offering an occasion for everyone to get to know the other cultures that it is made up of.
