Description
Empreinte(s)
«It’s a funny corporate comedy and environmental parable wrapped into one, with tones reminiscent of last year’s ascendent television comedy, Severance, and to Stanley Kubrick’s classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey.» – Ben Waldman, Winnipeg Free Press
«Developed by TCM, Cie du Jour and La Muse theatre companies, the show is a globalist critique disguised as a techno-drama.» – Ben Waldman, Winnipeg Free Press
ABOUT THE PLAY :
While the whole world is hit by severe weather, Scott, an employee of the International Digital Society is in charge of finalizing a computer program to clean up the Internet. But security restrictions force him to collaborate with Koumba, a housekeeper, and Hervé, a businessman. Will they find a way to work together?
So many dilemmas in Empreinte(s), a collaborative project that unites three countries, three cultures, three visions: Canada, Guinea and France. Franco-Manitoban artist Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner, Aminata Touré and Henri Thomas come to question the Manitoban crowd after their performances in West Africa, to give a show with both modern and philosophical dimensions.
